This is actually my third blog account (kind of like all those e-mail accounts I can’t seem to keep track of.) and I decided this blog will be exclusively about yarn and all things related to knitting. I’ve written some personal stuff before on my other blogs which I would rather not share with the whole wide world and when I did write stuff related to knitting, some of my non-knitting friends were bored to tears. So a fair compromise. Sure, I’ll have to be a little more diligent to update all three of my blogs but I think this will work out well in the end.
Anywho…today was a sad, sad day. I had to rip out and unravel the sweater vest I had almost finished for my hubby. Plagued from the very beginning with uneven knitting, knots, and finally mismatching front and back panels, it was sort of a relief to just undo the whole thing. This is the second time I am frogging a project made with this yarn. The yarn must be cursed! (it’s a Cleckheaton Machinewash 7-Ply yarn if you must know) I spent all afternoon carefully rewinding the yarn onto backs of my dining room chairs and then tying the hanks with waste yarn, then washing them gently in the baby bathtub. Now our master bathroom smells like a sheep died in there. Hopefully, whatever I end up making next time with this yarn will stay as a finished garment. My husband keeps asking me if it would be okay to pretend he received his gift sweater so that he wouldn’t need to buy me a birthday present. As if!
